The Beauty Demerit System
You’re alone at your dressing table staring into the mean magnification mirror and what you’re seeing has made you very nervous indeed.
In fact you can hear the whining siren of the Beauty Police in the background of your mind - oh no! You know you’ve violated dozens of those beauty standards and rules that we are all painfully aware of and you know you can’t afford to lose any more demerit points, you simply must keep driving.
But that damn reflection in the mirror just won’t quit making sure you see every pore, every crevice, every problem that is occurring thanks to its extra truthful exaggeration.
You’re also painfully aware of how badly the media treats the female celebrity, just trying to keep her career going by using a little something here and there…
They demand her Beauty License be immediately revoked on the grounds of overdone plastic surgery and they insist she not be allowed to open her mouth anymore or be seen in any other context than perhaps an interviewer’s chair so she can be appropriately questioned under their supposedly superior authority.
When we hear and see all of this, we also feel the same harsh judgement over ourselves.
“It’s as if the world suddenly becomes the Department of Beauty and wants to find reasons to revoke her beauty license because she’s committed too many infringements based on her plastic surgery choices”
Make the decision now to completely extricate yourself from such judgement toward the celebrity and you’ll find yourself automatically much more free in that moment.
You won’t have to always be nervously looking over your shoulder and checking your rear view mirror trying to outwit the annoying pink flashing light of the Beauty Police.
